T h at he is me, and the plugs are “ultra fast high temp” they only need 10-15 seconds to preheat, plus those little Shibaura-made Ford 3-cylinders continue to heat the plugs while cranking.

that white (or bluish-white) smoke from a cold diesel engine trying to start is unburned fuel. that is, fuel which was injected, got hot enough to vaporize, but not hot enough to ignite.

W hen it’s above 40 degrees F you can just bump the key and fires instantly, I’m not even sure it has to make a full revolution. It’s a marvelous little engine.
